I was involved with Sylvia King, Brendan Jackson, Bev Harvey and other members of Jubilee Arts in developing the original ambition and plans for the project that became known as The Public. It took over 13 years for the £60million to be raised and for Jubilee Arts to grow into an organisation large enough to run such an ambitious regeneration project. Unfortunately, before the building opened the original organsiation went into administration. The Public is nevertheless still on track to do the amazing work it was intended to do; using the arts to make West Bromwich a better place to live and work. I continue to work there as a consultant.
